If you are planning on going to Houston, I have one thing to tell you: get a car to rent! Whether you are going there for business or a personal vacation, Houston is a big city with lots of highways. If you don’t have a rental car, you are going to find yourself having an extremely difficult time getting around. Not long ago, I flew down to Houston to visit a friend. Since he had a car of his own, I didn’t have any need to rent a car. However, any time that we wanted to go anywhere (even if it was just to grab a bite to eat), we would inevitable have to jump on a highway and drive at least a couple of miles. If we would have had to rely on public transportation or taxis, we would have either spent the majority of my trip sitting and waiting or run up quite a large tab trying to pay for cab fare.

So, if you have a trip lined up to Houston, do yourself a favor and get a car to rent in Houston. It may not seem like it now, but in the long-run, a rental car will actually save you a lot of money.
